Salamandra

When one encounters Salamandra, the first thing that resonates is that fusion of modern rock with the melodic and rhythmic roots of Paraguayan folk. Their lyrics, which explore love, loss, and introspection, invite deep connection. The band was born in August 2000, inspired by the environment of an old railway station in Ypacaraí, where salamanders gave their name to the project. Since their beginnings, they have followed an interesting path, releasing a demo and EP in 2004 called Cianuro, which included songs like “Té de Cianuro” and “Estás,” pieces that became fundamental to their repertoire.

The path of Salamandra has been marked by constant evolution and presence on important stages. In 2005, their participation in the semifinal of the “Quiero tocar en Pilsen Rock” contest was a starting point for performances at national festivals and tours through Argentina and Mexico. Their first studio album, Todo en tu cabeza, arrived in 2010, consolidating a sonic identity that mixed rock with folk influences. It was followed by Salamandra acústico in 2011, a work that captured the intimate essence of their live performances. Subsequently, they released Vamos de gira (2013) and Alma en peña (2015), with the single “Solito” achieving notable repercussion on radio and digital platforms.
