Public Domain began as a Brazilian government project, an effort to bring more culture to more people. It was not just a site, but a place where books, texts, and other materials gathered that were no longer owned because they were in the public domain. It was created within the framework of the Education at a Distance Secretariat, part of the Ministry of Education. There were things from various sources: universities, organizations like UNESCO or PNUD, and also people who collaborated without asking for anything in return.
