Whitesnake

El álbum Whitesnake, released on April 7, 1987, is a key work in the career of the British hard rock band. Known in Europe as 1987, this album was recorded in several studios, including Little Mountain in Vancouver and Compass Point in the Bahamas, under the production of Mike Stone and Keith Olsen. Despite its commercial success, with over eight million copies sold in the United States alone, internal tensions within the band were palpable. In fact, shortly after completing the recordings, vocalist David Coverdale decided to fire guitarist John Sykes, leading to an almost total restructuring of the band.

About the album

Whitesnake, according to DoReSol

Among the most notable tracks are "Here I Go Again", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and "Is This Love", which climbed to the second position. Interestingly, "Crying in the Rain" and "Here I Go Again" had already been released in 1982, but in different versions. The album's production was not without difficulties; Coverdale suffered from severe sinusitis that required surgery and a prolonged rehabilitation period, delaying the recording process. Despite these setbacks, the album achieved significant impact, even helping its predecessor, Slide It In, to earn a gold certification.

This work not only solidified itself as the band's most successful album but also left a mark on rock history, becoming a benchmark of the era's glam metal. The blend of catchy melodies and powerful riffs, combined with Coverdale's strong vocals, makes this album a unique experience that continues to resonate in today's music.
