About the album
Prometo, according to DoReSol
The album wasn’t just about commercial success: two of its songs ended up in the soundtrack of the telenovela Caer en tentación. Saturno, originally by Damián and Carolina, became a central theme, while Prometo, composed by Raquel and Santiago, also had its place in the plot. But the most striking was the fourth single, La llave, which in May 2018 appeared in a collaborative version with the Colombian group Piso 21, on the artist’s birthday. The special edition of the album, released a year later, included acoustic versions of some tracks, closing a cycle that blended the digital with the organic.
The tour that followed the release traveled through Spain and America during 2018 and part of 2019, consolidating Prometo as one of the best-selling albums of the year in the country. It wasn’t a work that sought to break molds, but rather the one that best reflected that moment of maturity in Alborán’s career: songs that sound like confidences, with arrangements that balance the acoustic and the electronic without forcing abrupt changes.
