Otro día en el planeta Tierra

In 2005, Intoxicados released Otro día en el planeta Tierra, an album that condensed their raw and direct sound in studios across Argentina such as Matadero Records, Estudios Apátrida, and Garza's. The material was recorded between July and August of that year, with shared production between Ezequiel Araujo and Leha. What's interesting is that some songs came from earlier sessions: «Fuiste lo mejor» dates back to 2001, recorded at Matadero Records by Adrián Molina, while «Transan» and «Te la vamos a dar» emerged between 1999 and 2000 at Estudio Equilibrio, under the La Paloma Negra de la Paz label. The result was an album where fast-paced rhythms, sharp guitars, and lyrics that depict daily life with irony and rawness coexist, without filters.

About the album

Otro día en el planeta Tierra, according to DoReSol

Among the songs that resonated the most is «Nunca quise», which became an instant anthem for the band. Also notable are «Fuego», with its contagious energy, and «Señor kioskero», where black humor and social criticism blend with a catchy groove. «Reggae para Mirtha» and «Duérmete niño» showcase another side, more melodic and relaxed, but equally personal. All songs bear the signature of Pity Álvarez, except for the instrumental «Hermano Tolueno», composed by Jorge Rossi.

The album was released at a key moment for Argentine rock: in the midst of a surge of bands exploring street sounds and uncompromising lyrics. Intoxicados didn’t aim to sound polished; they sought to convey the authenticity of their scene, and they succeeded. Live versions of these tracks, years later, still sounded as vital as ever, as if time had not passed.
