This album not only consolidated Virus's proposal locally but also projected them onto a broader musical scene. *Locura* became a benchmark within rock in Ibero-America, eventually being recognized in lists of the best albums in the region's history. Songs like Pronta entrega, Destino circular, and especially Una luna de miel en la mano, became pillars of the band's repertoire and resonated strongly with the audience. In fact, several of these compositions are among Virus's most listened-to on digital platforms, demonstrating their enduring appeal. The live presentation of the album, with dates at the Teatro Ópera, featured a carefully crafted staging, including lighting design by Fernando Bustillo and costumes by Adriana San Román.
The impact of *Locura* was such that it sold over 200,000 copies in Argentina, a significant achievement for the time. This commercial success and the album's sonic quality opened doors for Virus on international tours throughout Latin America, consolidating their presence on the continent alongside other important bands from the 80s Argentine scene. Originally, the album was going to be called Pecados, but the Moura brothers decided on a last-minute change before its registration, opting for the title we know today.
