Estímulo

The sound of Pasaporte, a band that emerged in Bogotá in the late 80s, is defined by a Spanish rock proposal with new wave influences. In its beginnings, the lineup included Elsa Riveros on lead vocals, Pablo Tedeschi on keyboards and backing vocals, Roberto Uricoechea on bass, and Lila Jaramillo also on keyboards and backing vocals. Later, Sergio Solano joined on guitar. This group stood out during the boom of Spanish rock in Colombia. After an 18-year hiatus in the 1990s, Riveros, Tedeschi, and Jaramillo reunited. Under Tedeschi's production, they created new material, with the intention of releasing an album in 2009.

About the album

Estímulo, according to DoReSol

Their first, self-titled album was recorded in 1988 and quickly gained attention on the country's youth radio stations. Songs like "Igor y Penelope", which also featured the first music video directed by Simón Brand, became hits. Other notable tracks from that production were "Desertores" and "Castillos en el aire". This work was recognized in 2007 by Semana magazine as one of the 25 most relevant Colombian albums of the last quarter of the 20th century. In 1988, Pasaporte shared the stage at the memorable "Concierto de Conciertos" in Bogotá alongside Compañía Ilimitada, being both the only Colombian groups invited to this event.
