Disco Inferno

The Trammps' Disco Inferno reached the public in late 1976, just in time for the year-end holidays. It was first presented in nightclubs on December 29 of that year, and shortly after, in January 1977, the Atlantic Records label released it more widely. This album, which is the band's fourth studio work, was recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The sound that defines this album is clearly disco, a genre that was at its peak. Within this work, the song that gives the album its title, Disco Inferno, had a notable run on the charts. It reached number 9 on the Hot Soul Singles chart, peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the Hot Dance Club Play chart.
