Neneh Cherry lançou Heart em 1989, um tema que saiu de um álbum chamado Raw Like Sushi. A música foi gravada entre 1988 e 1989, em estúdios de Londres e Nova York. A mistura de sons é o que a torna especial: tem hip hop, new jack swing e R&B, com instrumentos como pianos, sintetizadores, trompetas e percussões. A letra fala sobre a vida de Cherry, sua infância e o que aconteceu ao se tornar mãe. A música foi um sucesso internacional, chegou à terceira posição no Reino Unido e à primeira na Suécia e nos Países Baixos. A versão que foi ouvida na rádio foi regravada com Tim Simenon, um músico que também trabalhou em Bomb the Bass.
