Lo stile sonoro continua con quel tipo di suono che già avevano prima, mescolando progressive rock e canzoni più commerciali. Il gruppo continua a lavorare con dettagli sonori che danno un tocco speciale. La canzone che dà nome all'album, Eye in the Sky, è la più famosa. Si distinguono anche Mammagamma, brano strumentale che ha un tocco futurista.

La copertina dell'album, come le precedenti, la fece Hipgnosis. Mostra un Occhio di Horus su fondo verde, in versioni diverse a seconda dell'edizione. Nel 2008 l'album fu rimasterizzato e si aggiunsero alcune tracce nuove.
