Initially composed of Jorge González (vocals, bass and main composition), Claudio Narea (guitar, vocals and backing vocals) and Miguel Tapia (drums, vocals and backing vocals), the band explored a sound that evolved from new wave with punk touches to synth pop. Their lyrics, filled with content and social criticism, resonated strongly with a generation marked by the oppression of the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, serving as a form of resistance. This stance led to censorship in the media until the early 1990s, but despite this, they achieved significant commercial success that extended to countries like Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. The album La Cultura de la Basura is part of other key works by the band such as La Voz de los '80 (1984), Pateando Piedras (1986) and Corazones (1990).
