The story behind

Tryin’ to Get to You, according to DoReSol

The recording of Tryin’ to Get to You took place at RCA's studios in Nashville, Tennessee, in mid-January 1956, and later at those in New York at the end of that same month. The engineer and producer in charge of these sessions was Sam Phillips. The duration of this piece is 2:33.

Elvis Aaron Presley, born in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1935, moved to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family. There, in 1954, his path in music began when Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Records, saw in him a way to spread African American music. Accompanied by Scotty Moore on guitar and Bill Black on double bass, Elvis was a fundamental part in the creation of rockabilly, a style that fused country and rhythm and blues with an accelerated rhythm. After an agreement with his manager, Tom Parker, Elvis Presley signed with RCA Records. His first single with this company, Heartbreak Hotel, released in January 1956, reached the top of the charts. His media appearances catapulted him as a central figure of rock and roll, accumulating successes and television performances.
