Take My Heart

In Something Special, the 1981 album by Kool & the Gang, we find the track Take My Heart (You Can Have It If You Want It). This song, with a duration of 4:04, became a resounding success, reaching the top spot on the R&B charts and number 17 on the Pop charts. The album itself marked a milestone for the band, being their third consecutive platinum-certified record and their first successful album in the UK, reaching number 10. Something Special continued Kool & the Gang's streak of hits. In addition to Take My Heart, the record included other notable singles such as Steppin' Out, which climbed to number 12 on R&B and number 89 on Pop, and Get Down on It, which positioned itself at number 4 on R&B and number 10 on Pop.

One of the songs from the album, Stand Up and Sing, also had a presence on the soundtrack of the 1982 film The Pirate Movie.
