The story behind

Take My Hand, according to DoReSol

When you dive into Take My Hand, you encounter the closing track of No Angel, Dido's debut album. Although it wasn't released as an official single from that record, this song had an interesting journey, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Dance Club Play chart in the United States in 2002. What's particular about Take My Hand is that, according to Dido herself, it was among the first compositions that emerged after her romantic life began. The album's recording took place in various London studios, including Swanyard Studios, The Church Studios, and Olympic Studios. The production of this piece was handled by Dido along with Rollo and Sister Bliss, while the mixing was overseen by Goetz.

The track Take My Hand was written by Dido Armstrong and Richard Dekkard. Its duration is just over six minutes, giving it space to develop. Later, in June 2004, DJ Darren Tate, under the pseudonym Jurgen Vries, created a version of Take My Hand that reached number 23 on the UK Singles Chart. In that reinterpretation, the vocals were performed by Andrea Britton. The album No Angel, of which this song is a part, was released on June 1, 1999, and marked the starting point of Dido's career.
