The story behind
The song Spaghetti del rock, by Divididos, has lyrics that lend themselves to various interpretations, and that's part of what makes it so interesting. On one hand, it is said that it could be dedicated to Érica García, ex-partner of Ricardo Mollo. But it is also thought that it points to how the media views the music world, seeking its own benefit through the artists. The song seems to address both themes, and even connects with a documentary about Luca Prodan that the band did not support, and with the past of Sumo and Prodan himself.
This track is part of Narigón del siglo, Divididos' sixth studio album, released on March 15, 2000. The recording of this album took place at Abbey Road studios, a milestone that marked a stage of maturation for the band and resulted in one of their most popular and acclaimed works. The album's presentation, and of Spaghetti del rock along with it, occurred in December 2000, during their second performance at the Estadio Obras Sanitarias.
