The story behind

This song, Sicko Mode, is distinguished by its structure. It is not a linear piece, but rather unfolds into three well-differentiated parts, each with its own character. The first section, which spans up to the initial minute, introduces Drake's voice and evokes memories of shared moments with friends during winter. Then, upon reaching the minute mark, the song mutates into a second part where the main voice is that of Travis Scott, who reflects on past relationships with women. Finally, from the three-minute mark onwards, the piece transforms once more, bringing Drake back and exploring the rappers' high school experiences, but now from the perspective of luxury and modern comforts, such as traveling on private jets. In essence, the complete piece is a journey through the artists' past, contrasting their previous experiences with their present. The recording of Sicko Mode extended between 2017 and 2018, and took place in studios such as Cactus in Honolulu, Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, and Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood. The track was originally released on August 3, 2018, as part of the album Astroworld, and was later released as a single on August 21. This song marked a milestone for Travis Scott by becoming his first number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and furthermore, it was the first hip-hop song to remain in the top ten of that chart for at least 30 weeks. The piece incorporates elements of "Gimme the Loot," written by The Notorious B.I.G. and Easy Mo Bee, and an interpolation of "I Wanna Rock" by Uncle Luke. On December 9, 2020, the song received Diamond certification from the RIAA.
