Travis Scott

Travis Scott —whose real name is Jacques Berman Webster II— grew up in Missouri City, a middle-class suburban neighborhood on the outskirts of Houston, Texas. At 16, he was already producing hip hop, and before finishing high school, he formed his first duo, The Graduates, with his friend Chris Holloway. In 2008, they uploaded an untitled EP to Myspace. Later came another project, The Classmates, with his partner OG Chess: two songs, Buddy Rich in 2009 and Cruis'n USA in 2010, before personal disputes and financial issues dissolved the group in 2012.Webster graduated from Elkins High School at 17, enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and left after his first year to fully commit to music.

He moved to New York, his parents temporarily cut off financial support, and he kept going. In 2012, he signed with Epic Records and that same November secured a production deal with GOOD Music, the label of Kanye West. In April 2013, he signed another deal, this time with T.I., and with him, his first demo.His career really took off with two mixtapes: Owl Pharaoh —which the magazine Spin compared to Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi— and Days Before Rodeo, intended as a prequel to his first album. That album, Rodeo, came with the single Antidote and received very good reviews.
