The story behind
Bon Jovi released Say It Isn't So as the second single from his album Crush, in 2000. The song questions whether the things we see on the screen really happen, or if everything is fiction. The video shows the band performing on a stage, and suddenly a car drives over them. The guys are surprised, but keep playing. Then scenes from movies appear: cowboys, dancers, and even actors like Claudia Schiffer or Arnold Schwarzenegger. The song is not about Billie Holiday, but the title reminds us of her song, Say It Isn't So, which was recorded in the 1950s. Holiday's song talks about a love that is lost, and how life is not always what it seems. Both songs use the idea that what we see is not always reality. ↓ Skip to chordsVerse 1
