The story behind

When you dive into the interpretation of Satisfaction, you encounter a piece that, although released in 1984, has an energy that transcends its era. The music, born from the collaboration of Bernd Dietrich, Gerd Grabowski, and Engelbert Simons, is distinguished by its direct and rhythmic character, something that Billboard managed to capture by describing it as a "more direct and percussive disco" track compared to other songs of theirs at the time. The lyrics, on the other hand, were the work of Mark Spiro and Diane Warren, who shaped the words that accompany that sonic foundation.

This song saw the light of day as the last promotional cut from the album Self Control, released by Laura Branigan in 1984. Its release as a single occurred in November of that same year, both in Europe and the United States. Although it did not have a full commercial distribution in the US market, it was made available in a 12-inch vinyl format, specifically intended for the club circuit. In fact, by August 1984, its presence was already being noted on club charts and in album plays. The decision not to give it a massive commercial release in the US was due, in part, to another track from the same album, Ti Amo, already receiving that kind of push for the pop market. Despite this, Satisfaction managed to place at number 24 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Disco chart in January 1985. The production of this track was handled by Jack White and Robbie Buchanan, and the B-side of the single included the song If You Loved Me.
