The story behind

The song Romance noir, with its duration of 4 minutes and 3 seconds, emerges from a moment of sonic exploration for Skank. For their fourth album, titled Siderado and released in 1998, the band from Belo Horizonte decided to explore new paths. They left behind the producer of their previous works and enlisted the British John Shaw and Paul Ralphes. The objective was to shape a different sound, and in this process, Romance noir was conceived as part of that exploration.

The recording of Siderado took place at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. On this album, Samuel Rosa and Chico Amaral collaborated on writing the compositions, although there were exceptions. For Romance noir, the authorship is attributed to Samuel Rosa and Chico Amaral. The album also featured the participation of musicians such as Marcelo Yuka, from O Rappa, and Rodrigo F. Leão, from Professor Antena. Additionally, the vocals of Daúde on Don Blás and the percussion group Uakti on No Meio do Mar were added.
