The story behind

The song Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution, with its raw and direct energy, feels like a statement of principles. From the first moment, the sound grabs you with a force that invites you to nod your head. It's one of those tracks that, no matter where you hear it, makes you feel the power of rock and roll. The music was created by Angus Young, Brian Johnson, and Malcolm Young, who knew how to capture that rebellious and contagious essence.

The recording of Rock and Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution took place at a key moment for AC/DC. Following the success of Highway to Hell in 1979, the band was planning their next work. However, in February 1980, the tragic loss of their vocalist Bon Scott in London led them to consider disbanding. Despite the shock, they decided to move forward and recruited Brian Johnson, who came from the band Geordie. The album, titled Back in Black, was composed entirely by Johnson and brothers Angus and Malcolm Young. The recording took place over seven weeks in the Bahamas, between April and May 1980, under the production of Robert John “Mutt” Lange. The recording engineers were Tony Platt, Benjamin Armbrister, and Jack Nuber, while the mixing was handled by Brad Samuelsohn. The album, released on July 25, 1980, by Albert Productions and Atlantic Records, became the band's first work with Brian Johnson at the helm and marked a new chapter in their history.
