The story behind
Rap/a/duras penas, according to DoReSol
Pedro Guerra recorded Rap/a/duras penas in 1994, in a cinema in Madrid. It was part of his first solo album, Golosinas, which came out after he ended his collaboration with Taller Canario. The song lasts two and a half minutes, and has a smooth, almost acoustic rhythm. On the album, Pedro moved away from the political and social lyrics he used to write before, and focused on more personal themes, such as memories or stories from his life. This song, like others, is based on cinema, and is mainly performed with guitar, without many instruments. It is a simple piece, but with a touch of nostalgia.
