The story behind

The song Physical, with its duration of 3 minutes and 49 seconds, is part of Sex and Love, the tenth studio album by Enrique Iglesias, released on March 14, 2014. This record work, published by Republic Records, saw the light at a time when Iglesias had already consolidated an extensive career. Born in Madrid in 1975, Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, known artistically as Enrique Iglesias, began his musical journey in 1995, initially signing with Fonovisa, a label of the Mexican company Televisa, which was key to his expansion in Spanish-speaking markets and the Latino community in the United States. Subsequently, in 1999, he made the leap to the English-speaking market by signing with Interscope, and also worked with Universal Music Latino.

The title Sex and Love, as explained by Iglesias himself, arose from a reflection on the general content of the album, something he felt everyone could identify with, regardless of their beliefs. The album featured collaborations from various artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue, Descemer Bueno, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Anthony Touma, Romeo Santos, Mickael Carreira, Marco Antonio Solís, Yandel, Gente de Zona, Luan Santana, India Martínez, and Sean Paul. From this album, three Spanish-language singles —Loco, El Perdedor, and Bailando— managed to reach the number one position on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Sex and Love was recognized with the Lo Nuestro Award for Pop Album of the Year.
