The story behind

The recording of One‐Sided Love Affair, as part of Elvis Presley's self-titled debut album, took place in two sessions. One part was recorded in mid-January at RCA's studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and the other at the end of the same month at RCA's facilities in New York. This record, released by RCA Victor, became a milestone by being the first rock and roll album to reach the number one spot on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, remaining there for ten weeks in its release year. Initial sales earned it a gold record certification, and subsequently, the RIAA certified it as a platinum record.

Elvis Aaron Presley, known simply as Elvis, was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, in 1935. His musical career began in 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, after moving with his family. It was Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Records, who saw in him the potential to spread African American music. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and upright bassist Bill Black, Elvis was a key figure in the creation of rockabilly, a style that fused country and rhythm and blues with an accelerated rhythm. Later, his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, facilitated a contract with RCA Records. His first single with this label, Heartbreak Hotel, released in January 1956, reached number one. Television appearances and his energetic and uninhibited style catapulted him to fame, making him a central figure of rock and roll. The duration of One‐Sided Love Affair is 2:11.
