In Nuevamente, El Cuarteto de Nos condenses sharp irony in less than two and a half minutes. The song progresses with a rhythm that seems to slip out of its own beat, as if each note were about to stumble over the next, yet never quite falling. The bass draws lines that repeat with a logic that never quite closes, while the drums mark an irregular pulse that gives it that air of controlled swagger. Recorded in 1994 for Otra Navidad en las trincheras, the album where El Cuarteto de Nos left behind the rawer sound of their early days to dive into more polished yet equally cheeky arrangements. The label Ayuí / Tacuabé released the record, which ended up being a turning point in their career: an album that, without intending to, ended up defining part of Uruguayan rock in the nineties.
