The story behind

The duo's songs Night Fever and More Than a Woman by the Bee Gees, as presented on the live album One Night Only, transport us to a specific moment in their career. This work captures a performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 14, 1997. What's interesting is that, while the CD of this album features an edited selection of tracks, the DVD version offers the complete concert, allowing for a more immersive experience. A later reissue in 1999 added an extra disc with songs that had been left out of the original CD edition. Curiously, the cover image of both the CD and DVD shows them recreating the iconic pose from Saturday Night Fever, a nod to their past. The duration of this combined performance is 3:26.

The brothers Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb, who founded the Bee Gees in 1958, were the architects of these performances. Born on the Isle of Man and with roots in England, their musical journey took them from Manchester to Australia, where they began their path in Redcliffe, Queensland. After an initial success in that country with Spicks and Specks, they returned to the United Kingdom in 1967, driven by producer Robert Stigwood. Throughout their careers, the Bee Gees were distinguished by their vocal harmonies and by composing and producing their own hits, as well as collaborating with other artists. The performance of Night Fever / More Than a Woman on One Night Only spans songs from several decades, from the sixties to the nineties, demonstrating the breadth of their repertoire.
