The story behind
Mujeres, according to DoReSol
The song Mujeres, released in 1992, marked a turning point in Ricardo Arjona's career. It was his first major international success, managing to enter the Top 10 of the *Billboard Hot Latin Songs* chart in 1993, where it reached sixth position. The lyrics, which begin by evoking the creation of Eve as a companion for Adam, reflect on the female figure, with verses like "I don't know who invented them / I don't know who did us that favor / it had to be God / who saw man so alone and without hesitation thought of two." This song, which became one of his representative tracks, was originally part of the 1993 album Animal Nocturno, and has been reinterpreted and reissued on various occasions throughout his discography.
This track, classified as Latin pop, was released under the label Sony Discos. Ricardo Arjona is both the composer and the main artist of Mujeres. Later, in 2007, Arjona released Quién Dijo Ayer, a compilation album that included new versions of his past hits, often in collaboration with other artists. This project, which was his last work with Sony Music before signing with Warner Music Group, featured musicians such as Panteón Rococó, Marc Anthony, Fernando Otero, Sandro, Marta Sánchez, and Eros Ramazzotti. The production of Quién Dijo Ayer was handled by Arjona himself, along with Tommy Torres, Dan Warner, and Lee Levin.
