The version of Mujeres found on the album Quién Dijo Ayer is a reinvention of a previously known song, where Ricardo Arjona surrounded himself with collaborators to give it a fresh feel. This reinterpretation, which lasts 4 minutes and 38 seconds, is distinguished by the participation of other artists, who contribute their style to the song. The album itself, released in 2007, was a particular project for Arjona, as it represented his farewell to Sony Music before joining Warner Music Group. It was a compilation that not only brought together past hits but presented them with renewed arrangements and in different musical genres, featuring the collaboration of figures such as Marc Anthony, Marta Sánchez, and Eros Ramazzotti, among others.

Ricardo Arjona Morales, born in Jocotenango, Guatemala, in 1964, is a singer-songwriter with a career spanning genres from ballads to Latin pop and rock. His ability to address social and everyday themes in his lyrics, such as immigration or machismo, has positioned him as a relevant figure in Latin America. For the production of Quién Dijo Ayer, Arjona worked with Tommy Torres, Dan Warner, and Lee Levin, who contributed to the creation of these new versions. This album was one of the thirteen studio albums that Arjona had released by 2011, in addition to compilations and singles. Several of his works have reached the top positions on charts such as the Billboard Top Latin Albums in the United States and in Argentina.
