The story behind

Money Honey, according to DoReSol

When you dive into *Money Honey*, you encounter a piece that strays a bit from Lady Gaga's most familiar work. The song, which lasts just over three minutes, was written by the artist along with Bilal Hajji, a regular collaborator of RedOne, back in 2007. Originally, it was intended to be an exclusive track for the Canadian version of her debut album, *The Fame*, but it was ultimately included in all editions. What's interesting is that the version we hear worldwide has a shorter introduction, while the Canadian one takes its time to start. In Gaga's records, the track appears under the name *Thats Money Honey*, a detail that adds a personal touch.

*The Fame*, the album it's part of, was released in August 2008 and was Lady Gaga's first major step onto the music scene. This album, which explores the concept of fame, also touches on themes such as love, money, and identity. The production was handled by several names, including Martin Kierszenbaum and Rob Fusari, and the overall sound leans towards electropop and synth-pop, with nods to 80s music. Before this album catapulted her, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, born in New York, was already making moves in the music circuit, even signing with Streamline Records in late 2007. It was her voice that caught the attention of Akon, who brought her to Kon Live Distribution.
