This album, released on June 22, 1993, became a tribute to her Cuban roots, exploring genres such as bolero, danzón, and son music. The recording took place at Crescent Moon Studios in Miami, Florida, and featured the participation of renowned musicians such as Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval, Cachao López, Chamin Correa, and Paquito D'Rivera, who contributed unparalleled sonic authenticity. The production was handled by her husband, Emilio Estefan.

The recording process involved engineers such as Charles Dye, Patrice Wilkison Levinsohn, Frank Miret, Eric Schilling, and Ron Taylor.
