The song Lucía, born from the pen and music of Joan Manuel Serrat, presents itself as an intimate portrait of a love that, though absent, resonates with an unwavering strength in memory. It is not a direct description of the beloved person, but rather a reflection of the profound mark they left on the author. The story behind Lucía has generated curiosity, with Serrat himself evading concrete details, describing it as "what could have been and was not," but also as "what was." However, journalistic accounts and testimonies such as that of Cuban singer-songwriter Santiago Feliú in 2011, suggest that the song is inspired by a real story: a past love that Serrat could not forget, even going so far as to call her on her wedding day.

Feliú, who considered Lucía a masterpiece for its elegant melody, evocative text, and theme of lost love, recalls that Serrat confessed to him that he felt it was a "wickedness" to have made that call, and that he even doubted whether the song was written before or after her wedding.
