Later, in 2008, Serrat re-recorded it in Italian for Quelle piccole cose, a double album alongside the Italian group Pan Brumisti, proving that the song’s essence transcends languages. Mediterráneo, for its part, was not only inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2007 but also ranked among the three best Spanish albums of the 20th century by Rockdelux in 2004—a belated recognition that merely confirmed what many had long suspected.
