The story behind
Love Don’t Live Here Anymore, according to DoReSol
This piece, Love Don’t Live Here Anymore, which lasts 4:50, was recorded at the Power Station studios in New York. The production was handled by Nile Rodgers, who called upon his former Chic bandmates, Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson, to join the project. The recording engineering was done by Jason Corsaro and Rob Eaton, while Corsaro also handled the mixing. The track is part of Madonna's second studio album, titled Like a Virgin, released on November 12, 1984. Following the success of her 1983 debut album, Madonna sought to replicate that energy for her next work.
She admired David Bowie's album Let's Dance, produced by Nile Rodgers, and that's why she chose him to work on Like a Virgin. She herself selected all the songs, composing five of them, four in collaboration with her ex-boyfriend Stephen Bray, and the remaining ones were written by other artists.
