The story behind
Lo que pasó, pasó, according to DoReSol
Daddy Yankee wrote Lo que pasó, pasó for his album Barrio Fino, released in 2004. The song was released as a single in August of that year, produced by El Cartel Records and VI Music. It became one of the most notable songs of his career, always featured in his concerts. In 2006, it achieved 70,000 ringtone downloads in Colombia. The idea came about when Naldo and Joan Ortiz, who were already working on another song, decided to make a different version with the same verses. The song became a hit, along with Gasolina and Like You. It was also performed by a Haitian group in Chile, in their debut album.
