Gasolina

Daddy Yankee released Gasolina in 2004, as the main track of his album Barrio fino. They recorded it at the end of 2003, in studios of El Cartel and Mas Flow. The song moved with synthesized rhythms, a catchy chorus, and a style that was already classic of reguetón.

The song entered the charts of Hot Latin Songs and Billboard Hot 100, something that the genre had not done before. In 2023, the Library of Congress included it in the National Recording Registry, the first reguetón song to do so. In 2024, it was certified 33x in the United States, with over 1.98 million copies sold. The song became a global hit, played in Puerto Rico, Latin America, the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean.
