The story behind
La compañía, according to DoReSol
When approaching La compañía, we encounter a theme that was gestated at a key moment for Wisin & Yandel, just before the release of their fourth album, Pa'l Mundo. This record, originally released on November 8, 2005, became a platform to consolidate their sound, and although La compañía is not the song that resonated most on the charts, it is indeed part of that sonic universe they were building. The album, released under Machete Music and distributed by Universal Music Latino, was enriched by collaborations with artists such as Daddy Yankee, Aventura, Héctor el Father, Tony Dize, Franco El Gorila, and Gadiel, which gave it a particular richness.
The production of Pa'l Mundo went through several stages. A reissue appeared on May 16, 2006, adding the track Pam pam, which reached the top of Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart. Later, on July 10, 2007, another version called First Class Delivery emerged, also through Machete Music. The album Pa'l Mundo itself reached first place in Billboard's Top Latin Albums category. It is interesting to note that the hit Rakata, which led the Latin Rhythm Airp chart, actually came from the album Mas Flow 2, showing how different projects intertwined in the musical landscape of the time. La compañía, with its duration of 3:23, is another piece within this discographic project that defined an important stage for the duo.
