The story behind

Joyride (single edit), according to DoReSol

When Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson, the duo behind Roxette, embarked on the creation of Joyride, they already had a path carved out in the music scene. Founded in 1986, the Swedish group had managed to resonate internationally, especially from 1989 onwards, when The Look catapulted them onto the charts in the United States. The band, which has sold an astonishing 75 million records and singles, stands out for its rock-oriented sound compared to other renowned Swedish acts. The production of Joyride involved engineering by Anders Herrlin and Alar Suurna, while the mixing was handled by Per Gessle, Clarence Öfwerman and Alar Suurna. Clarence Öfwerman also took on the role of producer, guiding the sound of this track, which has a duration of 4:00.

Roxette’s career has been marked by successes that transcended borders, including four singles that reached number one on the Billboard in the United States. Their connection to cinema also became evident with songs like It Must Have Been Love, which was part of the soundtrack for Pretty Woman. In addition to Joyride, the band contributed music to films such as Almost Unreal for Super Mario Bros and Stupid for Spun. Throughout their more than two decades of career, Roxette has been recognized with various awards, including the World Music Award, MTV awards, England’s BMI prizes, and several Swedish Grammys, solidifying their presence in the music industry.
