The story behind
It’s Just a Thought, according to DoReSol
The song *It’s Just a Thought* by Creedence Clearwater Revival is an example of how the band approached songwriting and recording. John Fogerty, who was responsible for the music, arrangement, and production, created it in a context where the other band members, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford, were seeking more involvement in the creative process. Although the intention was to experiment and create music collaboratively in the studio, it was ultimately John Fogerty who wrote this piece, which has a duration of 3:45.
This track is part of the album Pendulum, released by Fantasy Records on December 9, 1970. It was the second album Creedence Clearwater Revival released that year, following Cosmo's Factory just five months later. The recording of Pendulum took place at Wally Heider Studios in San Francisco and, unlike their usual pace, it took them a month to complete the work. The music of Creedence Clearwater Revival, which fused rock and roll with swamp rock, remains a pillar in the history of American music, and their legacy continues to be cited and influential for other artists.
