The story behind

Inútil paisagem, according to DoReSol

The musical piece *Inútil paisagem* is an intimate dialogue between two central figures of Brazilian music: Elis Regina and Antonio Carlos Jobim. What makes this interpretation special is how César Camargo Mariano, who was also Elis’s husband at the time, brought an innovative vision to the bossa nova genre. He introduced elements of electric instruments, giving the arrangements a fresh nuance, while Elis approached the themes with remarkable delicacy and restraint.

The recording of this project took place at the MGM Studios in Los Angeles, California, during February and March 1974. This collaborative album emerged as a special gift for Elis Regina, celebrating a decade of her career with the record label Philips. The sound engineer responsible for capturing these sessions was Humberto Gatica, under the production of Aloysio de Oliveira. The duration of the song *Inútil paisagem* is 3 minutes and 8 seconds. Elis Regina Carvalho Costa, born in Porto Alegre in 1945, became a leading figure in MPB, passing away in 1982.
