The story behind
Instituciones, according to DoReSol
Sui Géneris recorded Instituciones as their third studio album. The band was already a quartet: Charly García, Nito Mestre, Rinaldo Rafanelli and Juan Rodríguez. The song deals with social and political criticism, looking at institutions as power, the military, repression, censorship and assassinations. The lyrics focus on how these systems took over what was supposed to be neutral. The album received good reviews, but did not sell as much as the previous ones. Charly García, still under his original name, felt a bit disheartened. The song lasts 4 minutes and 51 seconds.
