The story behind
The Teenagers released this song in 1956, along with Frankie Lymon. It is called I Promise to Remember, and is part of their album The Teenagers Featuring Frankie Lymon. They recorded it with the Jimmy Wright band, who accompanied on bass and orchestra. The song reached #10 on R&B and #57 on pop. The B-side, Who Can Explain?, climbed to #7 on R&B. Everything came out in the same year, and the album included five singles that all charted in some category. The music is doo-wop with rhythms of rhythm and blues, and lasts almost three minutes. ↓ Skip to chordsVerse 1
