The story behind
I’ll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin’), according to DoReSol
The recording of I’ll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin’) took place at RCA studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and then in New York in mid and late January 1956. The recording engineer and producer for these sessions was Sam Phillips.
Elvis Aaron Presley, known as Elvis or "the King", was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. He moved to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1954. It was there that Sam Phillips, at the head of Sun Records, saw in him a way to bring African American music to a wider audience. Accompanied by guitarist Scotty Moore and upright bassist Bill Black, Elvis pioneered rockabilly, a style that combined country music and rhythm and blues with an accelerated rhythm. After signing with RCA Records, his first single with them, Heartbreak Hotel, released in January 1956, reached the top spot. His television performances and hits established him as a central figure in rock and roll. The duration of I’ll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin’) is 2:26.
