The version of _Historia de Taxi_ found in the album _Quién Dijo Ayer_ is a reinvention that extends the original duration to over six minutes. This reinterpretation moves away from the usual format, exploring a sound that unfolds with greater breadth. The album itself, released in 2007, stands out as a collection of past hits but revisited, where Ricardo Arjona invited other artists to give them a fresh air, blending genres.

This project was Arjona's last with Sony Music before joining Warner Music Group. The production featured collaborations with Tommy Torres, Dan Warner, and Lee Levin, who helped shape these new versions. The album included notable collaborations with figures such as Panteón Rococó, Marc Anthony, Fernando Otero, Sandro, Marta Sánchez, and Eros Ramazzotti, showcasing the musical diversity Arjona sought to explore. The record was well-received by critics, standing out as one of the most accomplished works by the Guatemalan singer-songwriter. Ricardo Arjona, born in Jocotenango, Guatemala, in 1964, has had a prolific career spanning genres from ballads to rock and Cuban music, and is known for addressing social and everyday themes in his lyrics. By 2011, he had already released thirteen studio albums and several compilations, with significant impact on charts like the Billboard Top Latin Albums and in Argentina.
