The story behind

Hello, according to DoReSol

The song Hello by Oasis, with its 3:22 duration, delves into the idea of how feelings towards a relationship can change over time. Noel Gallagher, the main songwriter, explained that the lyrics sought to reflect that transformation, commenting that "well, I suppose it won't be the same for us anymore." Interestingly, the composition of Hello came about towards the end of the sessions for the album Definitely Maybe. While that first work explored the dream of being in a band, Hello focuses on the experience of already being part of it, conveying a sense of return: "Hello, it's good to be back," as if recreating music. An interesting detail is that the street Berwick Street in London appears on the cover art of the album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. Furthermore, at the end of each chorus, a line can be heard that Gallagher borrowed from Gary Glitter's 1973 hit, Hello (It's Good To Be Back), evidencing the influence of Britpop. Gallagher recalled how he started singing "Hello, hello, it's good to be back," and the band felt that phrase fit perfectly into the song. In fact, Hello incorporates a fragment of Gary Glitter's Hello, Hello I'm Back Again.

This track is part of (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, the second studio album by the English band Oasis, released on October 2, 1995, under the Creation Records label. It was produced by Owen Morris and the band's own lead guitarist and songwriter, Noel Gallagher. The album's structure and arrangement style marked a notable difference from their previous work, Definitely Maybe (1994). Gallagher's compositions leaned more towards the ballad, giving greater prominence to "big" choruses and string arrangements. Morning Glory was Oasis's first album to feature drummer Alan White, who replaced Tony McCarroll, although McCarroll still appears on the record, playing drums on the song Some Might Say. The album catapulted Oasis from being an indie group to a global rock phenomenon.
