The story behind
Hechos de gente, according to DoReSol
Pedro Guerra recorded Hechos de gente in December 1994 at a cinema in Madrid. It was a live performance, without effects or sets, only with his guitar and a small band. The song is named this way, but it is not a story about what happened, but about what is felt. In his album, he moves away from political lyrics and protest songs that he used to write before with Taller Canario. Now he speaks about personal things, about what is remembered, about what was left behind. His voice is softer, the sound more direct, as if telling a story in a low voice, without embellishments. The song lasts three and a half minutes, but in that time it says a lot. People listen to it, repeat it, play it. It is a way of remembering, of leaving a record of what it was.
