Fun facts

Beatles wrote Good Morning Good Morning for their album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967. The idea came to John Lennon from a Kellogg's television advertisement. In the lyrics, they also mention a BBC programme called Meet the Wife, as if they were aware of what was happening on television. The song is attributed to Lennon–McCartney, although the main vocal is by Lennon.

The story behind

The Beatles recorded Good Morning Good Morning in 1967, as part of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Album. The song was born from a Corn Flakes ad by Kellogg's that John Lennon saw on TV. The idea of starting with 'good morning' became the chorus, blending advertising and humor. The recording was a piece-by-piece job: it started on February 8th with vocals and bass, and was completed in several sessions. Paul played guitar, Ringo used double bass drums, and George Martin called Sounds Incorporated for the saxophones. Animal sounds were also added, which Lennon wanted to give dynamism. In the end, a chicken sound became the start of the next track, something that marked the beginning of an album that was conceived as a story told in parts.
