The story behind
Ganas de..., according to DoReSol
The song Ganas de..., with its duration of 3 minutes and 14 seconds, emerges from a particular moment in Joaquín Sabina's career. Released in 1994 as part of the album Esta boca es mía, this record production sought to maintain or even surpass the resonance of his previous work, Física y química. Although it did not reach the same magnitude of commercial popularity, Esta boca es mía achieved good sales figures and generated songs that received positive reviews, consolidating the stage of artistic and personal maturity of the Spanish singer-songwriter.
Joaquín Sabina, born in Úbeda, Jaén, in 1949, has built a prolific career that includes fourteen studio albums, four live albums, and three compilations, in addition to collaborations with various artists. His work as a composer has also been fundamental, creating pieces for figures such as Ana Belén or Miguel Ríos. Throughout his career, he has shared stages in live productions such as La mandrágora (1981) with Javier Krahe and Alberto Pérez, or Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa en directo (1986) with the band Viceversa. In 2001, a cerebral infarction led him to a period of reflection and depression, after which he resumed his musical activity with albums such as Dímelo en la calle (2002) and Alivio de luto (2005), until reaching Vinagre y rosas in 2009, which sold 200,000 copies in its first month.
