The orchestral direction was handled by Luiz Astor da Silva, a key figure in the music scene of the time, who was also working with Roberto Carlos during that same period, directing Columbia Brasileira. The full album, which includes Flertei..., was a showcase for how Elis Regina approached samba and Brazilian popular music, largely thanks to the arrangements by Astor Silva.
The recording of this album, and therefore of Flertei..., took place at a time when Elis Regina, born Elis Regina Carvalho Costa in 1945 in Porto Alegre, was already a prominent figure.
