The story behind
When we think of a voice that conveyed so much strength and feeling, it is inevitable to remember Nino Bravo. Although the song Ni el viento ni el tiempo is not explicitly mentioned in the original material, the spirit of his music is reflected in the way he approached each performance. His style, a mix between the elegance of traditional song and the energy of the pop of his time, managed to connect with a very wide audience. What truly set him apart was the power and quality of his voice, something that distanced him from many who tried to follow in his footsteps.
From a very young age, Luis Manuel Ferri Llopis, the real name of Nino Bravo, showed an inclination for music. He grew up in the Sagunto neighborhood of Valencia, and his admiration for artists like Luis Mariano and later Tom Jones marked his first steps. Before shining solo, he was part of groups like Los Hispánicos and Los Superson, with whom he performed at parties and venues in the Valencian Community. His debut at the Teatro Principal in Valencia in March 1969, performing hits of the moment, earned him recognition and a recording contract. This agreement secured him a fixed payment for each song recorded and a percentage of sales, laying the groundwork for a career that, although cut short, left an indelible mark.
