The story behind
Es este amor, according to DoReSol
The song *Es este amor* has an interesting story behind its authorship. Although the music bears the signature of A. Medina, this was a pseudonym that Alejandro Sanz used at the beginning of his career. It was under this name that he composed all the tracks for his second studio album, *Viviendo Deprisa*, released on August 20, 1991. This album was his first venture with the WEA Latina label and marked his national popularization in Spain. Songs like *Los Dos Cogidos de la Mano* and *Pisando Fuerte* became hits, even having their own music videos, while others such as *Se Le Apagó la Luz* and *Lo Que Fui Es lo Que Soy* also received significant airplay. The duration of *Es este amor* is 3 minutes and 40 seconds.
Alejandro Sanz, whose real name is Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, was born in Madrid on December 18, 1968. His musical career is extensive, having sold over 25 million copies of his albums worldwide and accumulating 17 Latin Grammy Awards and three Anglo Grammys. His father, Jesús Sánchez Madero, was originally from Algeciras, and his mother, María Pizarro Medina, from Alcalá de los Gazules. Sanz is the nephew of Luis Pizarro, a political figure. Born in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood in Madrid, he moved to Moratalaz at the age of eight, where he attended the Mariana Pineda high school. During his peak artistic period, he lived with his parents in an apartment in the "Osa Menor" development on Avenida del Doctor García Tapia. At that time, it was common for groups of young people to gather in the building’s entrance hall, organized by the doorman, Cayetano, waiting for an autograph. He spent many summers in Alcalá de los Gazules, his mother’s hometown. In 2015, he released the album *Sirope*, a production that blends pop and rock elements, adding to his discography that includes works in Italian and Portuguese, as well as collaborations with British bands. An expanded edition of *Viviendo Deprisa* was published on September 26, 2006, under the title *Viviendo Deprisa (Edición 2006)*.
